“Whether you’re an experienced dancer, have briefly dabbled, or are a complete novice, we welcome older learners to try our Silver Swans® classes. These specially designed ballet sessions will help improve your mobility, posture, and coordination, and boost your energy levels”
Classes follow a traditional ballet class structure, beginning with a warm up, barre work, centre practice and reverence (thank you/conclusion).
With 4 classes across the weekday morning, classes are suitable for a complete beginner, those returning after a break, danced as a child or those with experience, there’s something for everyone!
Classes are friendly and relaxed with adaptations made for anyone that needs it.
In our gentle, low impact tap class, we work on steps and amalgamate them for a ‘learning through dance’ experience. Suitable for beginners or as a reintroduction to dance for older adults who have some dance experience but have not laced up their tap shoes in some time!
Tap helps with balance, coordination and mental stimulation, involving rhythm and patterns that promotes healthy brain activity, as well as having a few giggles along the way! We also take part in a Tapathon every November for charity.
Whether you’re looking to get active, meet new people, or simply try something new and a little different, tap dance is an excellent option for anyone who wants some low impact exercise and a
brain workout! If you want to learn steps and combinations and learn a shuffle from a riff, come and join us and make some noise!
A fusion of ballet barre and Pilates exercises for a low impact, conditioning class. Designed to strengthen and stretch using slow and controlled exercises incorporating fitness balls. The exercises are based on Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) an innovative body-conditioning and strengthening program.
The program has been adapted for adults and non-dancers and has huge benefits, especially for people recovering from injuries, older adults and people with a range of health conditions.
The class will help improve understanding of core stability, weight placement and alignment using exercises that have no impact and are mostly non weight bearing. This class is suitable for anyone wanting a new exercise experience! No Ballet or dance experience required!
The perfect accompaniment to your ballet classes, or a different way of doing Pilates. The class uses exercise balls to build strength within the core, back and legs. Mainly floor based, the exercises are done to classical music from the ballets.
If you want to see improvements in your strength or just to test it out, come and give it a go - The balls will let you know how you're doing!
